ROOF SURFACE
The large sloped roof is the primary architectural gesture of the existing building. It creates varied volumes of interior space while still maintaining a scale that fits into the surrounding site.

FROM INTROVERT TO EXTROVERT
Today, most activities are hidden deep inside the GSRC. Our proposal turns the building inside out, making activity and movement visible from the outdoors, creating an experience that naturally invites people to participate in both interior and exterior activities.

NEW FLEX- AND GYMNASTICS HALL
Towards the East side of the center is a Flex Hall and café, fitness area, indoor parkour and new urban living room that can be accessed by entire town. The flexibility of the program encourages new forms of movement, while the visibility encourages interaction between new and existing users.
On the West side of the center is the gymnastics hall and an additional flexible area that accommodates needs of multiple users. The variation between fixed and mobile installations gives the users freedom and flexibility to use and interpret the space based on their own needs. The Grennaa Sports- and Recreational Center provides space for all types of community members, from elite athletes, school children, amateur adults and many more.
