The new university library had to inscribe itself into a clearly defined rectangular building volume - according to the campus masterplan.
The library has two main programs. Media collection and staff-/study areas. In relation to program and daylight demands, we separated the two into efficient blocks with a long atrium in between. The atrium is then bridged by a series of programmtically interweaving connections creating a strong presence of media and research throughout the entire library.
